RDQ 5 BETA Initial Release

RDQ has gone through numerous changes. After receiving many suggestions and through careful consideration AMZ has decided to introduce these changes for players and server owners alike. Below you will find a careful breakdown of features introduced in RDQ 5 along with a brief explanation of its change from RDQ 4. The most notable changes are Advancements (formerly achievements) and Perks (formerly Passives).

Support Plugins:

Permissions:

  • The default RDQ 4 permissions have been reduced to make it easier for server owners to distribute and apply permissions.
  • RaindropQuests.player is still available for users who want a drag and drop play-style.
Configs:
  • Advancements
    • Advancements have been split into their respective requirement category.
    • X and Y location used for the GUI.
    • Y location determines tier for chained advancements.
  • Quests
    • Default quests have been moved to multiple configs for easier review.
  • Perks
    • Each perk has its own config.
    • Removing a perk config disables the perk. Permissions can also disable a perk.
  • Ranks
    • Every rank is in its own config for by default.
    • X and Y location are used to build the tree.
GUI Changes:
  • RDQ received a complete overhaul of its GUI system. Every quest, perk, and rank has its own sub GUI. Giving players a thorough breakdown of the options, cool down, stats, and information about the quest, perk, or rank.
  • Lore now opens a separate menu. 
    • [WITH] ProtocolLibs will open a lore book containing the information in the config lore section.
    • [WITHOUT] ProtocolLibs will open another GUI wherein every item has 3 lore lines.
  • Server owners can now choose between paged or scroll GUIs.
  • Advancements, Quests, Perks, and Ranks follow the same requirements and rewards system.

  • Trusted Menu
    • Machines have a trust menu where players can give other players access to their machines.
    • Trusted players will view a limited machine menu.
Advancements:
  • Formerly known as Achievements.
  • Requires UltimateAdvancementAPI.
  • Players can now view all RDQ advancements in the Minecraft advancements menu.
    • By default, players click L.
  • Players earn the root advancement for stats the first time any RDQ (player) command is used.
  • If Ranks are enabled, view the rank tree in the RDQ Ranks tab.
    • Players earn the root rank advancement the first time the ranks GUI is opened.
Quests:
  • Quest pouch removed in lieu of partial completion
  • See [Requirements] and [Rewards] sections.
Perks:
  • Crafting logic vastly improved for better performance
  • Chrono Crafter has replaced Forestry, Forgecraft, Prosperity, Brilliance, and Infernalism
    • Config has the option to set chance for each item type and set items in config
    • Each item in the recipe rolls its respective chance per Perk trigger.
    • Perk cooldown starts upon roll (successful or not)
  • Potions now use BasePotionType for faster logic check
  • Mystic Mending as replaced Greater Mending, Split Mending, and Exotic Mending
    • By default, this perk has the same function has Greater Mending - chance to increase mending amount
  • Machines:
    • Additional slots made available for machine modules.
    • Atomic Deformation
      • Atomic Reactor has replaced Atomic Deformation Machine
      • Atomic Reactor requires a redstone signal to active XP generation.
      • Players must place supporting blocks around Atomic Reactor to reinforce it.
      • Players must stand on Atomic Reactor during XP generation for 3 seconds.
    • Mechanization
      • Mechanization has a base crafting speed.
        • Server owners set base speed in Mechanization config.
    • Scavenger has replaced Collector
      • Server owners can now set global x, y, and z limit individually
      • Players can now specify specific x, y, and z for each Scavenger's Chest up to the global limit.
Forge
  • Forge is a new system implemented in RDQ 5. The forge will undergo continued testing, development, and changes.
  • The RDQ Forge is crafted by surrounding a Fire Charge with 8 Diamonds
  • The Forge offers players the ability to upgrade perks
  • As of BETA release the following upgrades are available:
    • Amplification: potion is applied to nearby player
    • Captis: generates passive income while fishing
    • Chrono: improved rates
    • Condense: unlocks condensing alternate blocks such as netherrack and end stone
    • Crystallize: make the growable version craftable - budding amethyst 
    • Demonforging: better amplification of enchant with guaranteed minimum
    • Expedire: unlocks crafting seeds into other seeds
    • Externelixiris: added random effect
    • Godsend: double bonus item
    • Mender: no XP loss on mending, chance to mend other gear
    • Mixologist: unlocks quasi colors
    • Piscatio: even more XP
    • Sage: increase range by multiplier (default 2)
    • Superheat: earn XP from crafting ingots
    • Transmogrification: Rotten flesh can be eaten without penalty
    • Transmutation: extra gold block when crafting any variant
    • Twinbrew: earn 2 potions back instead of 1
    • Walker: repair gear walking on soul sand
  • The following forge upgrades are in development:
    • Atomic Deformation: machine modules
    • Mechanization: machine modules
    • Quantum Storage: machine modules
    • Scavenger: machine modules
Ranks:
  • [WITH] UltimateAdvancementAPI
    • Rank tree available in-game through the Minecraft advancements menu
Requirements:
  • RDQ 5 requirements follow the same format for Advancements, Quests, Perks, and Ranks
  • Every requirement has a GUI config option which is shown to players
  • Requirements are checked in Async
  • Every requirement has a translated message to the player if they fail a requirement
  • Players can view their progress for Skills, Jobs, Items, and Money when viewing a requirement in the GUI.
Partial Completion:
  • Partial completion is available to players.
  • Server owners can disable this with RaindropQuests.options.partial permission.
  • When players attempt to purchase a perk, complete a quest, or rank up the same logic processes. If partial completion is enabled, items and money are taken until the requirement is met.
  • Players can individually partial-complete a requirement by clicking the individual requirement in the RDQ Requirements menu.
Rewards:
  • Similar to requirements, rewards are now viewed in their own GUI. 
  • Each reward has a GUI config option for server owners to set.
    • Players see GUI config option in the rewards menu.
  • Commands are run on advancement, rank up, perk purchase, or quest completion.
Translations:
  • All Strings are available in the language file. BETA release will only support English. Files will be translated on official launch due to possible changes as BETA progresses.
  • All previously support languages will be supported at official launch.
In Development:
  • RDQ starter cookie
  • Machine modules for Forged machines
  • Messages config and Discord notifications
  • ImageAPI to allow players to send inventory to Discord or RaindropCentral
